Monique & Mayank’s Pre-Wedding Sangeet was a wonderful time for celebrating, singing and dancing the night before their wedding.
Monique and Mayank’s Sangeet
Documented by Berit Bizjak (Principle Photographer)
One of the main reasons I became a full-time professional wedding photographer was because of the individual ceremonies and traditions involved in every wedding I have the honor of documenting. This is why, when asked to document Monique and Mayank’s multi-day South Asian Wedding, I was beyond honored. In our earlier post, you can see the amazing sacraments that occurred Friday morning which included the pre-ceremony rituals of Manwa Muharatt, Graha-Shanti and Haldi for Monique at her parent’s home. Later that night was an evening reception called Sangeet. The Sangeet is a time for celebrating, singing, dancing and joking. It is a perfect time for wedding guests to meet and get to know each other. The bridal and grooms party will each learn songs and dances to perform. The evening included Henna for the guests, performances by family members, Garbha and Raas (traditional Gujarati dances) ending with two hours of non-stop dancing to the Top 40 and Bollywood hits! It was an amazing day but the party wasn’t ending there. This was just the beginning! Take a look at Monique and Mayank’s gorgeous South Asian Wedding at The Pleasantdale Chateau!
The party didn’t end here. We started up again bright and early the next morning. Feel free to take a peak at Monique and Mayank’s South Asian wedding at The Pleasantdale Chateau!
