Brittanny and Chris’ Jersey City Engagement Session at Liberty State Park
As a wedding photography studio, we meet with a lot of couples. But when we met with Chris and Brittanny this past summer, we knew there was something special. We saw that they were a great “Match”. Little did we know. And then, we learned more about them it all made sense! The following is their story…
“One in five relationships start online,” as the tagline of Match.com states, and Brittanny and Chris’ relationship is proof that the modern dating experience truly does work. Both Brittanny and Chris turned to Match for similar reasons. After spending most of their twenties enjoying life with family and friends, traveling the world, and of course working long and sometimes odd hours, they were ready to meet ‘the one.’ With encouragement from friends and family, they got their accounts up and running. Chris’ Match experience had started some time before Brittanny’s, but he was finding that even though there were many fish in the sea, there were none worth catching. That was until one day a new member caught Chris’ eye. It didn’t take long for Chris to send Brittanny an email. Their relationship started with simple emails, getting to know eachother. Shortly, thereafter, Chris got up the nerve to take Brittanny on a face to face date!
Over the course of eighteen months, their relationship grew. Memories with their families and friends were made and plans for more adventures were booked. On a trip to California, Chris came to the realization that he truly did love Brittanny and proclaimed it on a romantic walk. Now in love, the couple began to share their hopes, dreams, and future aspirations with each other. On their next trip, which happened to be in sunny Aruba, it was clear they both wanted to spend the rest of their lives with each other, but they wanted to wait until the timing was right to take the next step.
This gave Chris the time he needed to plan and develop a proposal so detailed it took him a full three weeks to get organized and prepared for when it finally came time to propose. Chris surprised Brittanny with a by taking her on a “walk” to lunch which just happened to come across an acapella group (which Chris had hired) singing her favorite song. At the right time and moment, he and the song came together as one: …”He knelt on the ground and pulled out a ring and said, ‘Marry me Brittanny…..'” She put her hands to her face to hold back her emotions and used her sunglasses to hide the tears forming in her eyes. When the moment arrived she happily said, “Yes!” Chris put the ring on her finger and they kissed and embraced to the cheers and clapping of all those around them. We recently met up with Brittanny and Chris for their engagement session in Jersey City at Liberty State Park. We had such a great time and their true colors shined! Brittanny and Chris are a fun-loving, truly adorable couple and we feel incredibly honored to be documenting their wedding, at Hamilton Farm Golf Club, next April.
