Last week it was all about the Brides and their shoes! This week we are going to focus on the men. Let’s face it, when it comes to wedding attire the the buzz is on the Bride. But what about the guys? Today we are going to honor the men and talk about #groomfashiontrends. When it comes to Groom attire there is seemingly less option to customize and make a fashion statement, but we disagree. We are seeing a fashion trend, from the guys, in the form of ties, socks and links. But before we talk about the details let’s start with the foundation of a good suit or tuxedo.
Suit vs. Tux
Whether you choose to don a suit or tuxedo on your wedding day will depend largely on the formality of the day itself and you as a couple. If you have chosen am afternoon garden themed wedding, beach setting or even an evening wedding with a less formal feel a suit is one hundred percent appropriate. If you are planning a more formal event, then a tuxedo is likely the way to go. Either way you will want a single breasted, two-button jacket that has been tailored to your specific build. Make sure that about a half of an inch of shirt is exposed at the cuff so that it frames the suit and allows you to show off some of those details we will discuss, like cuff links. If you are opting for a tuxedo, look for a jacket with a notch lapel in a satin or cross grain material for a clean classic look.
Groom fashion trends
The use of unique and colorful socks, ties and cuff links are becoming a widespread groom fashion trend and are giving that classic suit or tuxedo an authentic style. From camo and elephants to typography and star-wars, we are seeing it all!
What better way to show off your personality then with a fun pair of socks?
We are seeing a large trend toward bow-ties this season, in non-traditional prints like the camouflage one below!
This classic white jacket and navy pant combination paired with a pink and blue bow tie is sharp and just right for this beach inspired wedding. We love the way they coordinated the ring bearer with the groom!
Not a bow-tie guy? That’s ok, we are seeing a lot of colorful neck-ties with patterns and prints. This is especially popular in the summer months.
If you are taking a more traditional approach to your wedding attire, the classic black tie and tuxedo combination will never go out of style.
Last but certainly not least is the cuff link. What better way to show off your style and persona by showing a little bit of love for a favorite team or icon? We often see men wearing cuff links that were handed down among generations or given by their partner as a wedding gift. Regardless of suit or tux, a good pair of cuff links is an excellent way to make a fashion statement.
We are absolutely loving the style that the guys are bringing and want to see more of it. We think that shoes are totally under estimated and are hoping with the 2015 wedding season to see some fashion forward choices with the grooms and their shoes! Style is about representing your authenticity and that is what we do! Contact us to learn more about how we can help you document your day.
