“A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art” - Paul Cezanne.
My passion for photojournalism and people of all ages is so easily told through my images. Your individuality is my palette for artistry, and has continued to spark my enthusiasm over many years of photographing weddings. I am constantly inspired and in awe of the many layers and depths of love, relationships, and your commitment to one another. This sensitivity guides my image making, and is enhanced through my client relationships, many of which continue long after the wedding day. My tools include 35mm, medium format, and digital cameras, and I believe one of the strongest mediums that exists is black and white film. I love using black and white film because it is so evocative and has a certain truth about it. It leaves a lasting, nostalgic impression, and has breath-taking fine art appeal.
“If you're photographing in color you show the color of their clothes; if you use black and white, you will show the color of their soul.” - Author Unknown.
I constantly refresh and challenge my techniques, always looking for new and interesting ways to open up creative possibilities -- and reflect the personalities of each bride and groom. Every couple deserves images that reveal their individuality and moments of their wedding day to last for generations ahead.
Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties' - Erich Fromm.
